European union declared a new rule to require USB-C chargers

The European Union declared a new rule to require USB-C chargers. Apple isn’t happy about this decision!

The European Union proposed a new rule to require a USB-C port which is standard on smartphones, tablets, cameras, speakers, and video game systems.

The European Union proposed new rules on Thursday ( 09-23-2021 ) that will make USB-C ports standard on smartphones, tablets, cameras, phones, portable speakers, and handheld video game systems.

But this decision has a big impact on Apple because they use its own “Lightning” port on the iPhone. But this rule will be effective in few years, still hope that apple can be adjusted this rule and take decision complicated to make changes.

The European Union tech chief Margrethe Vestager said in a statement that people of Europe were annoyed long enough about incompatible chargers piling up in their drawers. This is the suitable time to make this solution, ripe for legislative action for a common charger. She also added that it is a big achievement for our consumers and the environment.

The European Union give pleasure the tech industry to maintain and produce standardize chargers for more than a decade

Apple said that it will try to engage with stakeholders to help find solutions to consumers’ interests.

“We remain concerned that strict regulation mandating just one type of connector stifles innovation rather than encouraging it, which in turn will harm consumers in Europe and around the world,” the company added in a statement.
